International training

Studying abroad is the dream of many baccalaureate holders and students who have already started their university career. It is also an opportunity to boost a career and a relatively enriching experience with many advantages. These days, it’s possible to continue learning in another country by enrolling on an international course. Find out more in…

Why study abroad?

Any recruiter will tell you that, whatever field of activity you plan to work in or whatever career you want to pursue, doing part of your course in another country is a real asset.

It will be a useful experience both professionally and personally, provided it is planned properly. Of course, in addition to international studies, there may be a number of other reasons for this decision.

International training during a trip abroad will give you the opportunity to :

  • Exposure to a new culture;
  • improve your language skills and acquire new ones;
  • expand your network of contacts and your vision of the world;
  • develop an international and intercultural profile;
  • increase your chances of finding new opportunities.

The number of opportunities to study abroad is growing all the time. Various French schools now offer a range of options to enable local students to continue their education abroad. You can choose to study for a full year or a semester. Another option is to do a work placement during the summer holidays, during the year or as part of your gap year.

Which schools should you go to for international training?

Many higher education institutions have opened up to the world by offering their students courses abroad. Their aim is to better prepare them for international careers, such as international relations studies, commerce, business, management, finance and import-export.

However, this comes with certain requirements, such as good employability at the end of the course. That’s why it’s useful to follow an international course, a type of training that optimises the skills and knowledge of each student.

Business schools are pioneers when it comes to studying abroad. They continue to expand their catalogue of destinations. Some have also established numerous partnerships with foreign schools, enabling students to obtain double degrees. Others have even opened their own campuses abroad.

International study placements

Doing a work placement abroad during your studies is a good option if you want to gain professional experience. You’ll be discovering a new culture, perfecting your foreign language skills and adding a new dimension to your CV. It will also give your CV an international dimension.

Each country has its own definition of the concept and practice of an internship. You will often have to adapt to the terms and conditions laid down by your host establishment during your work placement. Generally speaking, your work placement will form part of your international training, but it could also be a short period of work. Your placement will then be formalised by the signing of a placement agreement, defining your working conditions (paid or unpaid).
