Fort Boyard Hackathon: ASE
When innovation and education meet!

Training
The students taking part in this project benefited from courses in motion design, UX and UI, taught by Romain Asse, a lecturer at Sup de Pub. These lessons, which focused on innovation and user experience, enabled them to immerse themselves in an immersive teaching method combining theory and practice, with a unique experiential approach.
The project
The project, dubbed the “UX Fort Boyard”, consisted of an intensive five-day hackathon organised on the Sup de Pub Paris campus. The students worked in collaboration with the Aide Sociale à l’Enfance (ASE) of Seine-Saint-Denis, a real client with a complex problem: improving the system for registering and managing childcare places, while integrating innovative technological solutions.
Challenges met
The students had to overcome a variety of demanding challenges throughout the hackathon.
Quickly adapt to a work environment structured around timed tests.
Understand complex social issues relating to child protection.
Develop an innovative technological solution to optimise the management of childcare places.
Working as part of a team to design a functional and practical application.
Make compelling presentations at every stage to convince the juries and the client.
Rendering
The students came up with an innovative and intuitive app that can be used to list the places available in childcare facilities in real time, with key data for each child (health, schooling, important dates). This solution has been designed to meet the needs of ASE professionals while guaranteeing appropriate educational and social follow-up for children.
The role of the school
Sup de Pub provided an immersive and structured framework, combining theory and practice, to stimulate the students’ creativity. Tools such as Miro and methodologies adapted to the design sprint helped to channel ideas and optimise productivity. The involvement of external partners, such as Geen Conseil and Upgrade, enriched the experience by offering students networking and recruitment opportunities.
In a nutshell
The “UX Fort Boyard” hackathon not only won the Gold Prize for the best digital teaching innovation, but also the Grand Prix 2024 des Écoles de communication. This success illustrates Sup de Pub’s commitment to a teaching approach based on action, reflection and concrete impact. With this project, the students proved their ability to respond to major societal issues while developing essential professional skills. It was an outstanding experience that opens up new prospects for their future.
